Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 and by the scatterers scattering (rain) 3 and the severally severing 4 And by the angels that bring the revelations to the Messengers, 5 to provide excuses for some and to give warnings to others: 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 So when the stars are put out, 8 Heavens will rent asunder. 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 to what day shall they be delayed? 12 For the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false]! 13 And what will explain to thee what is the Day of Sorting out? 14 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 15 Did We not destroy the ancient people 16 We will now cause the later ones to follow them: 17 As such shall We deal with the sinners. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 which We then placed in a secure repository 21 until an appointed time? 22 Then We facilitated (your birth). How well do We calculate! 23 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 24 Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together. 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And made therein mountains standing firm, lofty (in stature); and provided for you water sweet (and wholesome)? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 Depart to that you cried was lies! 29 "Depart you to a shadow (of Hell-fire smoke ascending) in three columns, 30 "(Which yields) no shade of coolness, and is of no use against the fierce Blaze. 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 like giant fiery ropes! 33 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 34 This is the Day they shall not speak, 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 So if you have any ploy, try it against Me! 39 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 40
