Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths! 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 Accepting what their Lord has given them. Indeed, they were before that doers of good. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 On the earth are signs for those of assured Faith, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
