The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 Nay; I swear by the twilight; 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
