So exhort (them, O Prophet), for by your Lord's Grace, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Do they say: "He is a poet for whom we expect an adverse turn of fortune?" 30 Say: Wait, for surely I too with you am of those who wait. 31 Do their minds command them this [i.e. to tell a lie against you (Muhammad SAW)] or are they people exceeding the bounds (i.e. from Belief in Allah to disbelief). 32 What! They say, “He has invented the Qur'an”? Rather they do not have faith. 33 So let them bring a discourse like it, if they are truthful 34 Were they created out of nothing, or are they their own creators? 35 Have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact, they have no strong faith. 36 Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]? 37 Have they a ladder up to heaven by means of which they can overhear? Then let their listeners bring a clear proof. 38 Hath He daughters and ye sons? 39 Or do you ask them for a reward, so that they are overburdened by a debt? 40 Or do they have knowledge of the Unknown which they write down? 41 Seek they to lay a plot? Then those who disbelieve it is they who shall be plotted against. 42 Or have they an ilah (a god) other than Allah? Glorified be Allah from all that they ascribe as partners (to Him) 43 And if they were to see a piece of the heaven falling down, they would say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. 45 The Day when their guile shall not relieve them a thing, and they shall not be helped. 46 For the harmdoers there is indeed, a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. 47 So wait patiently for the Judgement of your Lord -- you are certainly under Our watchful eye. And glorify and celebrate the praises of your Lord when you rise up [from your sleep]. 48 And in the night, give Him glory too, and at the setting of the stars. 49
