Have you then seen him who turns his back? 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Or has he not been told of what is in the scrolls of Moses, 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 And that his endeavour shall be presently observed. 40 Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that it is He Who causeth to die and causeth to live. 44 It is He who has created spouses, male and female, 45 From seed when it is emitted. 46 And that only upon Him is the next revival? 47 And that it is He Who has given wealth and contentment? 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 and caused them to be covered with that which He covered them with. 54 Then which of the gifts of thy Lord, (O man,) wilt thou dispute about? 55 He who warns you is one of the warners of old. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And laugh and not weep? 60 While ye amuse yourselves? 61 Prostrate yourselves before Allah, and serve Him. ۩ 62
