The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 has taught the Quran to (Muhammad). 2 He created the human being 3 And taught him to express clearly. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning, 5 And the herbs (or stars) and the trees both prostrate. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 so that you should not transgress the measure. 8 Give just weight and do not skimp the scales. 9 And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 grain with its husk and aromatic herbs. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He has created man, from dry ringing clay, like the potter"s, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 18 He has set two seas in motion that flow side by side together, 19 Between them is a barrier which none of them can transgress. 20 Which of the wonders of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you then deny? 25
