The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 Has created Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) as the soul of mankind. 3 [And] taught him eloquence. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 And the stars and trees prostrate. 6 He raised the heaven on high and set the scale. 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 He spread out the earth for the people. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses. 20 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 21 From these seas come forth pearls and coral. 22 Which, of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 23 And His are the lofty ships that sail like [floating] mountains through the seas. 24 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 25
