The Night (Al-Layl)

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
CONSIDER the night as it veils [the earth] in darkness, 1 and the day in splendour 2 By (the mystery of) the creation of male and female;- 3 you strive in various ways. 4 As for he who gives and fears Allah 5 and confirms the reward most fair, 6 Unto him therefore We shall indeed make easy the path to ease. 7 But as for he who withholds and considers himself free of need 8 And who belieth the Good, 9 for him shall We make easy the path towards hardship: 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 BEHOLD, it is indeed for Us to grace [you] with guidance; 12 And verify Ours is both the Hereafter and the life present. 13 Therefore I warn you of the fire that flames: 14 None will [enter to] burn therein except the most wretched one. 15 Who belieth and turneth away. 16 But the righteous one will avoid it - 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 and owes no favour to anyone, which is to be repaid, 19 Other than seeking the glory of his Lord, most high, 20 And presently he shall become well pleased. 21

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. (1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
