۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 Other than God," (the angels will be told), "then show them the way to Hell, 23 "But stop them, for they must be asked: 24 [They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?" 25 Nay, but on that Day they would willingly surrender [to God]; 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 They will say: verily ye! ye were wont to come unto us Imposing. 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 and so we became deserving of the Word of our Lord that we shall be made to suffer chastisement. 31 We seduced you astray; verily we were ourselves the seduced ones. 32 On that Day, they will all share the chastisement. 33 that is how We deal with evil-doers. 34 When they were told, "There is no deity but God," they turned away with disdain, 35 And said: Shall we forsake our gods for a mad poet? 36 In fact he has brought the Truth, and testified for the Noble Messengers! 37 (They will be told), "You will certainly suffer the painful torment 38 And you shall not be rewarded except (for) what you did. 39 Save the servants of Allah, the purified ones. 40 Those! theirs shall be a provision known: 41 Fruits; and they shall be honoured, 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 On couches, facing one another. 44 a cup filled with wine from its springs, will be passed around to them; 45 white, a delight to the drinkers, 46 No headiness there shall be therein, nor shall they be therewith inebriated. 47 And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 And they will all turn to one another, asking each other [about their past lives]. 50 One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), 51 Who used to say: "Are you among those who believe (in resurrection after death). 52 (Do you think) we would be paid back our due when we are dead and reduced to dust and bones?' 53 He said: 'Will you look down?' 54 Then, he will look and see him in the midst of Hell. 55 He saith: By Allah, thou verily didst all but cause my ruin, 56 Had it not been for the grace of my Lord I too would have been there (in Hell). 57 What, do we then not die 58 Saving our former death, and are we not to be punished? 59 This will indeed be great happiness. 60 For the like of this let the workers work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 For We have truly made it (as) a trial for the wrong-doers. 63 It is a tree that grows at the bottom of Hell. 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of Shayatin (devils); 65 Then most surely they shall eat of it and fill (their) bellies with it. 66 And behold, above all this they will be confounded with burning despair! 67 Then their return will be to the same blazing Hell. 68 Indeed they found their fathers astray. 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 And assuredly there went stray before them many of the ancients. 71 although, verily, We had sent warners unto them: 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 Other than the chosen creatures of God. 74
