Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 And by the winds that blow violently, 2 By the spreading winds spreading. 3 separating one from another, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 excusing or warning, 6 What is promised will surely come to pass. 7 Thus, [it will come to pass] when the stars are effaced, 8 and when the sky is rent asunder 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the messengers are (all) appointed a time (to collect);- 11 for what Day has this been appointed? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 15 Did We not destroy the earlier people? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Thus deal We ever with the guilty. 18 On that day, woe upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 19 Did We not create you of a mean fluid, 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 till a known term decreed? 22 We then calculated; so how excellently do We control! 23 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected the revelations of God! 24 Have We not made the earth a receptacle? 25 For the living and the dead. 26 And made therein lofty mountains, and given you to drink of sweet water? 27 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 28 "Go to what you used to deny; 29 proceed towards the three-pronged shadow, 30 Neither shading nor availing against the flame. 31 Verily! It (Hell) throws sparks (huge) as Al-Qasr [a fort or a Qasr (huge log of wood)], 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe, that Day, to the deniers. 34 This is a Day they will not speak, 35 Nor will it be permitted for them to make an excuse. 36 Ruin is for the deniers on that day! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 If you are cunning, then try your cunning against Me! 39 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 40
