Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 and the Day of Judgment will inevitably take place. 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 who are steeped in ignorance and heedlessness. 11 They ask: When is the Day of Judgment? 12 Upon the day when they shall be tried at the Fire: 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 Surely the God-fearing will find themselves in the midst of gardens and springs. 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 and in their wealth was a share for whosoever asked and for whosoever was prevented. 19 In the earth there is evidence (of the Truth) for those who have strong faith. 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
