The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
When the sun (with its spacious light) is folded up; 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 when the savage beasts shall be brought together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 when the souls shall be coupled, 7 And when the girl buried alive shall be asked: 8 such as, "For what crime were they murdered?" 9 And when the books are spread, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought nigh, 13 then shall each person know what he has brought along. 14 No! I swear by the slinkers, 15 stars which are visible during the night 16 by the night when it approaches 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 Verily this is the word of a most honourable Messenger, 19 Owner of strength, of established dignity with the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 Your companion (Muhammad) does not suffer from any mental illness 22 He had surely seen Him on the clear horizon. 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is nothing but a Reminder to the worlds, 27 For whoever wills among you to take a right course. 28 but your wishing will not avail unless Allah, the Lord of the Universe, so wishes. 29
