The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By those [angels] who extract with violence 1 By the meteors rushing, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 by those that outstrip them suddenly, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 Eyes be lowered in submission. 9 The disbelievers say, “Will we really return to our former state?” 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 and they say, "That indeed would be a losing return." 12 But it shall be only a single cry, 13 And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. 14 (Muhammad), have you heard the story of Moses 15 When his Lord called to him in Tuwa's holy vale? 16 "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed. 17 and say [unto him,] 'Art thou desirous of attaining to purity? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 So he gathered the people, and proclaimed. 23 Then he said: I am your lord, the most high. 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Indeed in that is a warning for whoever would fear [Allah]. 26
