The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 And when the stars fall down. 2 the mountains are scattered about as dust, 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 when the seas are set boiling, 6 And when the souls are paired. 7 And when the girl-child who was buried alive is asked. 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 the records of deeds are made public, 10 the heavens are unveiled, 11 And when the hell is kindled up, 12 and Paradise is brought near, 13 Every soul shall (then) know what it has prepared. 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Go straight, or hide; 16 And the night when it departs, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 truly this is the word of a noble Messenger 19 one mighty and held in honour with the Lord of the Throne; 20 Obeyed (by the angels), trustworthy there (in the heavens). 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 The Quran is not the word of condemned satan. 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 (With profit) to whoever among you wills to go straight: 28 And what will you wish, except if Allah wills – the Lord of the Creation. 29
