And indeed We rescued the Descendants of Israel from a disgraceful torture. 30 They (had experienced) under the Pharaoh. He was certainly a tyrant, guilty of excess. 31 And We knowingly chose them, among all others of their time. 32 And granted them Signs in which there was a manifest trial 33 Yet those who deny the truth say, 34 "There is no dying for us but once; and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring back to life our fathers if what you say is true". 36 What! Are they better than the people of Tubba and those who were before them? We destroyed them because they were guilty of sin. 37 For [thus it is:] We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them in mere idle play: 38 none of this have We created without [an inner] truth: but most of them understand it not. 39 Assuredly the Day of Decision is the term for all of them, 40 the day a master shall avail nothing a client, and they shall not be helped, 41 except for those to whom God grants mercy. He is Majestic and All-merciful. 42
