Therefore, remind. By the Favor of Allah, you are neither a soothsayer, nor mad. 29 Or say they: a poet for whom we wait some adverse turn of fortune! 30 Say (O Muhammad SAW to them): "Wait! I am with you, among the waiters!" 31 Is it their minds that bid them [to take] this [attitude] - or are they [simply] people filled with overweening arrogance? 32 What! They say, “He has invented the Qur'an”? Rather they do not have faith. 33 (If they are truthful in this), then let them produce a discourse of similar splendour. 34 Or were they created out of naught? Or are they the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they are sure of nothing! 36 Or are thy Lord's treasuries in their keeping? Or are they the registrars? 37 Or, do they have a ladder on which they listen? Then let any of them that has listened bring a clear authority. 38 Or, has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Or askest thou them for a wage, and so they are weighed down with debt? 40 Is with them the Unseen, and they write it down! 41 Or do they intend a plot (against thee)? But those who defy Allah are themselves involved in a Plot! 42 Have they, then, any deity other than God? Utterly remote is God, in His limitless glory, from anything to which men may ascribe a share in His divinity! 43 AND YET, if they [who refuse to see the truth] were to see part of the sky falling down, they would [only] say: "[It is but] a mass of clouds!" 44 So leave them till they encounter their Day in which they shall be thunderstruck. 45 The Day when their guile shall not relieve them a thing, and they shall not be helped. 46 The unjust will suffer other torments besides this but most of them do not know. 47 And wait patiently for the judgment of your Lord, for surely you are before Our eyes, and sing the praise of your Lord when you rise; 48 and proclaim the praise of thy Lord in the night, and at the declining of the stars. 49
