Noah (Nooh)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty." 1 He said: O my people! verily I am unto you a warner manifest. 2 that you serve Allah and fear Him, and follow me; 3 He will forgive you your sins, and will defer you to an appointed term. Verily the term of Allah when it cometh shall not be deferred, if ye but knew. 4 He said, "My Lord, indeed I invited my people [to truth] night and day. 5 but my call has only increased them in running away. 6 Each time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers in their ears and wrapped themselves in their garments, and persisted becoming very proud. 7 “I then called them openly.” 8 Then I announced to them and [also] confided to them secretly 9 Then I said, Ask forgiveness of your Lord, surely He is the most Forgiving: 10 He will send [rain from] the sky upon you in [continuing] showers 11 and will aid you with worldly goods and children, and will bestow upon you gardens, and bestow upon you running waters. 12 What ails you, that you look not for majesty in God, 13 While He has created you in stages? 14 ‘Do you not see how Allah has created the seven heavens atop each other?’ 15 "'And made the moon a light in their midst, and made the sun as a (Glorious) Lamp? 16 Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 And thereafter He will cause you to return thereinto, and He will bring you forth a forthbringing. 18 God has spread out the earth 19 for you, so that you may walk along its wide roads". 20
