No! By the moon 32 By the receding night 33 And by the dawn when it brightens, 34 Lo! this is one of the greatest (portents) 35 a warning to humans, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 Sitting in the gardens, asking 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 Nor did we used to feed the poor. 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 Then what is [the matter] with them that they are, from the reminder, turning away 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 Nay! but they do not fear the hereafter. 53 but this is truly a reminder. 54 Let him then who heeds remember it. 55 But they will not benefit from it unless Allah Himself so wills. He is worthy to be feared; and He is worthy to forgive (those that fear Him). 56
