Thorns (Al-Masad)

5 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Key (Al-Faatehah) before The Rolling (Al-Takweer)

In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful

May the hands of Abu Lahab perish, may he be ruined. 1 His property and worldly gains will be of no help to him. 2 [In the life to come] he shall have to endure a fire fiercely glowing; 3 And so will his wife; carrying a bundle of firewood on her head. 4 A twisted rope of palm-leaf fibre round her (own) neck! 5

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
