Joseph (Yousuf)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Ra'. These are the verses of a Book that clearly expounds the truth. 1 Surely We have revealed it-- an Arabic Quran-- that you may understand. 2 We relate to you, [O Muhammad], the best of stories in what We have revealed to you of this Qur'an although you were, before it, among the unaware. 3 When Yusuf said to his father: O my father! surely I saw eleven stars and the sun and the moon-- I saw them making obeisance to me. 4 He said, "O my son, do not relate your vision to your brothers or they will contrive against you a plan. Indeed Satan, to man, is a manifest enemy. 5 “And this is how your Lord will choose you and teach you how to interpret events, and will perfect His favours upon you and upon the family of Yaqub, the way He perfected it upon both your forefathers, Ibrahim and Ishaq; indeed your Lord is All Knowing, Wise.” 6
