The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 and those that draw out violently, 2 And who glide with ease. 3 and the outstrippers (angels), outstripping, 4 and by the angels who regulate the affairs, (you will certainly be resurrected). 5 On the day when the trembling one will tremble. (The disbelievers will certainly taste the punishment.) 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: “Shall we indeed be restored to life, 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 Surely they will need no more than a single stern blast, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Hath there come unto thee the history of Moses? 15 When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 and that I should guide thee to thy Lord, then thou shalt fear?"' 19 Moses showed him the great miracle 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 and then he gathered [his great ones,] and called [unto his people,] 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. 26
