Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And you have forsaken the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
