۞ "Bring ye up", it shall be said, "The wrong-doers and their wives, and the things they worshipped- 22 besides God, and lead them to the path of the Fire; 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 No, today they will resign themselves in submission, 26 They will turn to each other saying, 27 "It was you who tried to mislead us from righteousness". 28 The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers, 29 We had no authority over you, but you were an insolent nation. 30 So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment]. 31 We mislead you and we ourselves had also gone astray." 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 Thus do We treat the culprits. 34 Surely they used to behave proudly when it was said to them: There is no god but Allah; 35 saying, 'What, shall we forsake our gods for a poet possessed?' 36 No, indeed, he has brought the truth, and confirmed the Messengers. 37 You shall certainly taste the painful punishment: 38 and be rewarded only according to your deeds." 39 Not so, however, God's true servants: 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 Fruits! And they shall be honoured. 42 in the Gardens of Bliss 43 facing one another [in love] upon thrones of happiness. 44 A bowl shall be made to go round them from water running out of springs, 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 And with them will be chaste females, restraining their glances (desiring none except their husbands), with wide and beautiful eyes. 48 As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected. 49 Then one turned to the other in an enquiry. 50 one of them will say, "I had a friend, 51 Who said: art thou of those who confess to the doctrine of Resurrection: 52 ‘That when we are dead and have turned into dust and bones, that we will either be rewarded or punished?’ 53 And he will reply: 'Are you looking down (into Hell)' 54 Then he will look downwards, and will see him in the depths of Hell. 55 He shall say: By Allah! you had almost caused me to perish; 56 And but for the favour of my lord, I should have been of those brought forward. 57 Are we then not to die 58 except our first death, and shall we not be punished' 59 Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. 60 For the like of this let the workers [on earth] work. 61 Is this a better hospitality or the tree of AzZakkum! 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire, 64 and its fruits are like devils' heads. 65 and they eat of it, and of it fill their bellies, 66 Then on the top of that they will be given boiling water to drink so that it becomes a mixture (of boiling water and Zaqqum in their bellies). 67 Then to Hell they will surely be returned. 68 Truly they found their fathers on the wrong Path; 69 So they hastily follow their footsteps! 70 Before them a multitude of people of olden times had erred, 71 And indeed We sent among them warners (Messengers); 72 Then see how was the end of those warned, 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
