Say thou: O people of the Book! come to a word common between us and between you; that we shall worship none save Allah and that we shall not associate aught with Him, and that none of you shall take others as Lords beside Allah. Then if they turn away, say: bear witness that verily we are Muslims. 64 O people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians)! Why do you dispute about Ibrahim (Abraham), while the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel) were not revealed till after him? Have you then no sense? 65 You are those who disputed about things of which you had some knowledge. Must you now argue about things of which you have no knowledge? God knows, but you do not know. 66 Ibrahim was not a Jew, nor a Nazarene, but he was an upright Muslim, nor was he of the associators. 67 Behold, the people who have the best claim to Abraham are surely those who follow him - as does this Prophet and all who believe [in him] - and God is near unto the believers. 68 Some of the People of the Book wish to make you go astray, but they lead none astray except themselves, though they do not sense it. 69 O people of the Book! wherefore disbelieve ye in the revelations of Allah whereas ye bear witness? 70 O followers of the Book! Why do you confound the truth with the falsehood and hide the truth while you know? 71
