The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Read (Prophet Muhammad) in the Name of your Lord who created, 1 He created man from a clot. 2 Read! Your Lord is the Most Generous, 3 who taught by the pen, 4 Teacheth man that which he knew not. 5 Nay! man is most surely inordinate, 6 because he thinks that he is independent. 7 Surely to your Lord is the return. 8 Bethinkest thou him who forbiddeth, 9 a worshiper when he prays. 10 Seest thou if he is on (the road of) Guidance?- 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 Hast thou seen if he denieth (Allah's guidance) and is froward? 13 Does he not know that God observes all things? 14 No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock - 15 by the lying forelock steeped in sin. 16 So let him now call his gang! 17 We shall call the guards of Hell. 18 Yes indeed; do not listen to him – and prostrate, and become close to Us. (Command of Prostration # 14) ۩ 19
