The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Most Merciful 1 Taught the Qur'an, 2 Created man, 3 He taught distinctness. 4 The sun and the moon follow a reckoning. 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 He positioned the earth for all the creatures: 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 the grain in the blade; and aromatic herbs. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 18 He has let forth the two seas, they meet together, 19 and between them is a barrier which they do not overpass. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 23 His are the ships with elevated sails upon the sea like mountains. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
