So did you observe him who turned away? 33 Gives a little, then hardens (his heart)? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And Abraham who paid his debt: 37 that no bearer of burdens shall be made to bear another's burden; 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 And that his effort will be seen. 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 And that unto thy Lord is the goal. 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 and that it is He alone who deals death and grants life; 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 And that He only is the Lord of the star Sirius? 49 And that He destroyed the first [people of] 'Aad 50 And Thamud, and did not leave them, 51 And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing. 52 And He destroyed the Overthrown Cities (of Sodom and Gomorrah). 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warner from the warners of ancient times. 56 The Day of Judgment is drawing nearer. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you, perchance, find this tiding strange? 59 And will ye laugh and not weep,- 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 So make obeisance to Allah and serve (Him). ۩ 62
