The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
When the sun Kuwwirat (wound round and lost its light and is overthrown). 1 The stars turn dim and scatter, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when the pregnant camels are neglected, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 When the female (infant), buried alive, is questioned - 8 For what sin she was killed, 9 And when the pages are laid open, 10 when heaven is stripped, 11 When the Blazing Fire is kindled to fierce heat; 12 And when the Garden shall be brought nigh, 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 No indeed; I swear by the alternating stars 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And the close of night, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 That this is indeed the word of an honoured Messenger, 19 with strength endowed, secure with Him who in almightiness is enthroned 20 One (to be) obeyed, and faithful in trust. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 Surely he beheld Him on the clear horizon. 23 and he is not one to begrudge others the knowledge [of whatever has been revealed to him] out of that which is beyond the reach of human Perception. 24 And it is not the word of an accursed Satan; 25 So where are you going? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
