۞ O men! you are they who stand in need of Allah, and Allah is He Who is the Self-sufficient, the Praised One. 15 If He wills, He can take you away and bring other creatures. 16 That is not a hard thing for Allah. 17 And no burdened soul will carry another soul’s burden; and if a burdened soul calls another to share the burden, no one will carry any part of it, even if he is a close relative; O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), your warning only benefits those who fear their Lord without seeing and who keep the prayer established; and whoever cleansed himself, has cleansed for his own benefit; and towards Allah only is the return. 18 Not alike are the blind and the seeing. 19 And neither are darkness and brightness! 20 Nor are the shade and the heat, 21 nor are the living and the dead. God causes whom He will to hear Him, but you cannot make those who are in their graves hear you. 22 You, [O Muhammad], are not but a warner. 23 Verily We have sent thee in truth, as a bearer of glad tidings, and as a warner: and there never was a people, without a warner having lived among them (in the past). 24 And if they belie you, those before them also belied. Their Messengers came to them with clear signs, and with the Scriptures, and the book giving light. 25 Then I took hold of those who disbelieved, and how terrible was My denial (punishment)! 26
