▼ 56 The Inevitable
Al-Waaqe'ah 3 of 3
۞ NAY, I call to witness the coming-down in parts [of this Qur'an] 75 (and that is indeed a mighty oath, did you but know it) 76 That it is a Recitation honourable. 77 In a Book Hidden. 78 which none shall touch except the purified; 79 A Revelation (this Quran) from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 80 Is it this Statement that ye scorn, 81 and do you make it your living to cry lies? 82 Then why, when the soul at death reaches the throat 83 And you wait for the moment (of death), 84 - And We are nearer unto him than ye are, but ye see not - 85 why, then, if you are not subject to Our command, 86 can you not cause that [ebbing life] to return - if what you claim is true? 87 Then, if he is one of the honoured, 88 then happiness and delight and Gardens of Bliss are his. 89 If it is of the people of the right hand, 90 he will be welcomed by the words: “Peace to you” from the People on the Right. 91 But, if he is of those who belied, and went astray, 92 Then an entertainment of boiling water. 93 And burning in hell. 94 Indeed, this is the true certainty, 95 Therefore glorify the name of your Lord, the Great. 96
