The Embryo (Al-Alaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
READ in the name of thy Sustainer, who has created 1 created man from a clot [of blood]. 2 Read and your Lord is Most Honorable, 3 Who taught by the pen, 4 Hath taught man that which he knew not. 5 No! [But] indeed, man transgresses 6 whenever he believes himself to be self-sufficient: 7 Lo! unto thy Lord is the return. 8 What is your opinion – regarding him who forbids – 9 a servant (of Allah) when he prays? 10 Do you think he is rightly guided, 11 or bade to godfearing -- 12 Hast thou considered whether he may [not] be giving the lie to the truth and turning his back [upon it]? 13 Does he not realize that God sees him? 14 Indeed, if he does not desist, We will seize him by the forelock, 15 A forelock, lying, sinning. 16 So, let him call upon his way! 17 We too would summon the braves of the army. 18 Nay, heed him not: But bow down in adoration, and bring thyself the closer (to Allah)! ۩ 19
God the Almighty always says the truth.
