(In the days of old), Noah cried to Us, and We are the best to hear prayer. 75 And We rescued him and his family from the great distress (i.e. drowning), 76 and We made his seed the survivors, 77 And left for him among the later folk (the salutation): 78 Peace be upon Nooh, among the entire people. 79 Verily, thus do We reward the doers of good 80 Lo! he is one of Our believing slaves. 81 Thereafter We caused the others to be drowned. 82 ۞ AND, BEHOLD, of his persuasion was Abraham, too, 83 when he turned to his Sustainer with a heart free of evil, 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 "Is it a falsehood- gods other than Allah- that ye desire? 86 "Then what do you think about the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns, and all that exists)?" 87 And he glanced a glance at the stars 88 And he said: verily I am about to be sick. 89 But they turned their backs and went away from him. 90 He turned to their gods and said, "Do you not eat? 91 "What is the matter with you that you speak not?" 92 Then he turned upon them, striking (them) with (his) right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said: worship ye that which ye carve. 95 when it is Allah who created you and all that you do' 96 They said: "Build for him a building (it is said that the building was like a furnace) and throw him into the blazing fire!" 97 But whereas they sought to do evil unto him, We [frustrated their designs, and thus] brought them low? 98 And [Abraham] said: "Verily, I shall [leave this land and] go wherever my Sustainer will guide me!" 99 My Lord! Bestow on me a son who will be of the righteous. 100 We gave him the good news that he would have a patient, forbearing son. 101 And when (his son) was old enough to walk with him, (Abraham) said: O my dear son, I have seen in a dream that I must sacrifice thee. So look, what thinkest thou? He said: O my father! Do that which thou art commanded. Allah willing, thou shalt find me of the steadfast. 102 When they submitted to the will of God, and (Abraham) laid (his son) down prostrate on his temple, 103 We called out to him "O Abraham! 104 you have confirmed your vision' As such We recompense the gooddoers. 105 Most surely this is a manifest trial. 106 And We ransomed him with a Feat sacrifice. 107 and left for him among the later folk 108 Peace be upon Ibrahim! 109 Indeed, We thus reward the doers of good. 110 Indeed, he was of Our believing servants. 111 And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaque (Isaac) a Prophet from the righteous. 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
