Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER these [messages,] sent forth in waves 1 Then by oath of those that push with a strong gust. 2 And scatter (things) far and wide; 3 And those that distinguish distinctly, 4 and then giving forth a reminder, 5 As justification or warning, 6 Most surely what you are threatened with must come to pass. 7 When the stars lose their light, 8 And when the heaven is opened 9 and when the mountains are scattered like dust, 10 And when the Messengers are gathered to their time appointed; 11 To what day is the doom fixed? 12 For the Day of Decision. 13 And what could make thee conceive what that Day of Distinction will be? 14 On that day, woe will be to those who have rejected God's revelations! 15 Did We not destroy many a nation of the earlier times? 16 and let the latter follow them? 17 [for] thus do We deal with such as are lost in sin. 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you from a weak water, 20 Then We placed it in a secure resting-place, 21 For a known calculated term. 22 So We decreed. How excellent are We as decreers! 23 Woe that Day to the deniers (of the Day of Resurrection)! 24 Have We not made the earth a repository 25 Both for the living and the dead, 26 And placed therein high mountains and given you to drink sweet water therein? 27 On that Day (of Judgment) woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Proceed to a shadow [of smoke] having three columns 30 Neither shady nor protecting against the blazing Fire. 31 that shoots sparks like dry faggots, 32 Seeming like yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 34 That will be a Day when they shall not speak (during some part of it), 35 And they will not be permitted to put forth any excuse. 36 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 37 This is the Day of Decision, We have assembled both ye and the ancients. 38 Now, if ye have a trick (or plot), use it against Me! 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
