It is He who sends down water from the skies; you drink thereof, and thereof [drink] the plants upon which you pasture your beasts; 10 With it He causes to grow for you the crops, the olives, the date-palms, the grapes, and every kind of fruit. Verily! In this is indeed an evident proof and a manifest sign for people who give thought. 11 And He subjected the night and the day for you – and the sun and the moon; and the stars are subjected to His command; indeed in this are signs for people of intellect. 12 And there are also Signs for those who take heed in the numerous things of various colours that He has created for you on earth. 13 And He it is who has made the sea subservient [to His laws,] so that you might eat fresh meat from it, and take from it gems which you may wear. And on that [very sea] one sees ships ploughing through the waves, so that you might [be able to] go forth in quest of some of His bounty, and thus have cause to be grateful [to Him]. 14 God has fixed the mountains on earth lest you should be hurled away when it quakes. Therein He has also made rivers and roads so that you will find your way. 15 And also landmarks; and by the stars they are guided. 16 Is He, then, who creates like him who does not create? Will you not, then, take heed? 17 If you count the favours of God you will not be able to calculate. Assuredly God is forgiving and kind. 18 God knows all that you conceal or reveal. 19 Those unto whom they cry beside Allah created naught, but are themselves created. 20 They are not living but are dead. They can not know when they will be raised. 21
