The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
THE HOUR HAS come and split is the moon. 1 But if they see a Sign, they turn away, and say, "This is (but) transient magic." 2 They denied (the Truth) and followed their own lusts. Yet everything will come to a decision 3 There have already come to them Recitals wherein there is (enough) to check (them), 4 Mature wisdom;- but (the preaching of) Warners profits them not. 5 So (O Muhammad SAW) withdraw from them. The Day that the caller will call (them) to a terrible thing. 6 abasing their eyes, they shall come forth from the tombs as if they were scattered grasshoppers, 7 Hastening, with eyes transfixed, towards the Caller!- "Hard is this Day!", the Unbelievers will say. 8 ۞ There belied before them the people of Nuh. So they belied Our bondman and said: a madman; and moreover he was reproven. 9 Then he invoked his Lord (saying): "I have been overcome, so help (me)!" 10 Thereupon We opened the gates of the sky for water to pour down, 11 And We caused the earth to gush forth with springs. So the waters (of the heaven and the earth) met for a matter predestined. 12 But We bore him on a (vessel made) of planks and oakum, 13 That ran (upon the waters) in Our sight, as a reward for him who was rejected. 14 We have left this as a sign: but will anyone take heed? 15 So how awesome were My chastisement and My warnings! 16 And We have indeed made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 17 'Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning. 18 We let loose against them a violent roaring wind on a day of ill omen, continuous, 19 and snatched people up as though they were stumps of uprooted palmtrees. 20 How then were My punishment and My warnings! 21 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 22
