The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created man. 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man from clay like [that of] pottery. 14 And He created the jinn of a flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 23 By His command, the ships with raised masts sail on the sea like mountains. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
