And assuredly We delivered the Children of Isra'il from an ignominous torment 30 From Firon; surely he was haughty, (and) one of the extravagant. 31 We knowingly exalted them (i.e., the Children of Israel) above other peoples of the world 32 And We gave them portents wherein was a clear trial. 33 As to these (Quraish), they say forsooth: 34 "After we die, we shall never be raised to life again. 35 "Then bring (back) our forefathers, if what ye say is true!" 36 Are they better than the people of Tubba, and those who had lived before them, whom We destroyed as they were sinners? 37 We have not created the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, out of play. 38 We created them not save in truth; but most of them know it not. 39 Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all - 40 The day on which, no friends will benefit each other at all, nor will they be helped. (Except those who are pious – see verse 43:67) 41 Except him on whom Allah has Mercy. Verily, He is the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 42
