The people of Lot rejected the Messengers, branding them liars. 160 When their brother Lout (Lot) said to them: "Will you not fear Allah and obey Him? 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 163 I do not ask any payment for my preaching. I shall receive my reward from the Lord of the Universe. 164 "Must you, of all people, [lustfully] approach men, 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 They said: "If you cease not. O Lout (Lot)! Verily, you will be one of those who are driven out!" 167 He said, "Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it]. 168 “My Lord, rescue me and my family from their deeds.” 169 So We saved him and his family, all, 170 Except an old woman who lingered behind. 171 We then destroyed the others. 172 and We poured a rain [of destruction] down upon them -- and how evil was the rain which fell on those who were forewarned. 173 Verily in this is a Sign: but most of them do not believe. 174 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might Most Merciful. 175
