The Prophets (Al-Anbyaa')
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Their reckoning has drawn near to men, and in heedlessness are they turning aside. 1 No recent revival of the remembrance comes to them from their Lord, except that they play with it as they listen 2 Their minds are lost in frivolous pastimes; and the evil-doers discuss secretly: "Is he not but only a man like you? Then why are you taken in by magic seeingly?" 3 And the Prophet said, “My Lord knows all that is spoken in the heavens and in the earth; and He only is the All Hearing, the All Knowing." 4 Some say, "These are his confused dreams." Others say, "He has invented it himself," and yet others say, "He is a poet. Let him bring us a sign as previous messengers did." 5 (As to those) before them, not one of the populations which We destroyed believed: will these believe? 6 And We sent not before you, [O Muhammad], except men to whom We revealed [the message], so ask the people of the message if you do not know. 7 Nor did We give them bodies that ate no food, nor were they exempt from death. 8 Then We made Our promise good to them, so We delivered them and those whom We pleased, and We destroyed the extravagant. 9 And assuredly We have sent down unto you a Book wherein is admonition for you; will ye not then reflect? 10
