And recite to them the story of Ibrahim (Abraham). 69 When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?” 70 They replied: 'We worship idols and continue cleaving to them' 71 He said, “Do they hear you when you call?” 72 “Or do they benefit you or harm you?” 73 They exclaimed: But we found our forefathers doing the same!" 74 He said: "Have you considered what you have been worshipping, 75 You and your ancient sires. 76 “They are all my enemies, except the Lord Of The Creation.” 77 "Who has created me, and it is He Who guides me; 78 and He gives me to eat and drink, 79 And when I am ill, it is He who cures me 80 and who will cause me to die and then will bring me back to life 81 "And Who, I hope will forgive me my faults on the Day of Recompense, (the Day of Resurrection)," 82 My Lord, give me Judgment, and join me with the righteous, 83 "Grant me honourable mention on the tongue of truth among the latest (generations); 84 And make me of the heirs of the garden of bliss 85 "And forgive my father - for, verily, he is among those who have gone astray 86 And do not disgrace me on the day when they are raised from the graves, 87 “The day when neither wealth will benefit nor will sons.” 88 and when he alone will be saved who comes to God with a sound heart." 89 On the Day of Judgment Paradise will be brought near the pious 90 "And to those straying in Evil, the Fire will be placed in full view; 91 they will be asked, "Where are those whom you worshipped 92 "Instead of Allah? Can they help you or (even) help themselves?" 93 Thereupon they will be hurled into hell - they, as well as all [others] who had been lost in grievous error, 94 And the soldiers of Iblees, all together. 95 They will say while contending therein, 96 they will say, "By God, we were in clear error 97 When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds. 98 "'And our seducers were only those who were steeped in guilt. 99 So none we have as intercessors. 100 Nor a close friend (to help us). 101 Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers... " 102 Verily! In this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 103 And verily thy Lord is He, the Exalted in Might, Most Merciful. 104
