And Noah verily prayed unto Us, and gracious was the Hearer of his prayer 75 And We saved him and his family from the great affliction. 76 and made his offspring the only ones to survive, 77 and left for him among the later folk 78 Salamun (peace) be upon Nuh (Noah) (from Us) among the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)!" 79 As such We recompense the gooddoers, 80 Verily, he [Nuh (Noah)] was one of Our believing slaves. 81 Then We drowned the other (disbelievers and polytheists, etc.). 82 ۞ Of his party was Abraham. 83 When he came to his Lord with a free heart, 84 When he said to his father and to his people: "What is it that which you worship? 85 Is it falsehood [as] gods other than Allah you desire? 86 What do you think about the Lord of the Universe?" 87 Then he cast a glance at the stars, 88 and said, "Verily, I am sick [at heart]!" 89 So they turned away from him, departing. 90 Then he slipped unto their gods and said: eat ye not? 91 “What is the matter with you, that you do not say anything?” 92 Then did he turn upon them, striking (them) with the right hand. 93 Then came (the worshippers) with hurried steps, and faced (him). 94 He said, "How can you worship what you yourselves have carved 95 "While Allah has created you and what you make!" 96 They replied: 'Build for him a building and cast him into the fire' 97 Their desire was to outwit him, but We made them to be the humiliated. 98 And he said: Lo! I am going unto my Lord Who will guide me. 99 [And he prayed:] "O my Sustainer! Bestow upon me the gift of [a son who shall be] one of the righteous!" 100 So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy. 101 When his son was old enough to work with him, he said, "My son, I have had a dream that I must sacrifice you. What do you think of this?" He replied, "Father, fulfill whatever you are commanded to do and you will find me patient, by the will of God". 102 Then (remember) when they both submitted to Allah’s command, and Ibrahim lay his son facing downwards. (The knife did not hurt Ismail) 103 We called to him, "Abraham, 104 Thou hast already fulfilled the vision. Lo! thus do We reward the good. 105 Lo! that verily was a clear test. 106 And We ransomed him with a mighty sacrifice, 107 And We kept his praise among the latter generations. 108 Peace be upon Abraham. 109 Thus do We reward the doers of good 110 He is truly among Our faithful creatures. 111 Then, We gave him the glad tidings of Isaac, a Prophet, one of the righteous, 112 and We blessed him and Isaac: but among the offspring of these two there were [destined] to be both doers of good and such as would glaringly sin against themselves. 113
