The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 There is about its happening no lie. 2 It will abase some and exalt others. 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 and the mountains are shattered into [countless] shards, 5 they will become like dust scattered around. 6 And you (all) will be in three kinds (i.e. separate groups). 7 Those of the right hand -- how (happy) will be those of the right hand! 8 Companions of the Left, what are the Companions of the Left? 9 And those foremost [(in Islamic Faith of Monotheism and in performing righteous deeds) in the life of this world on the very first call for to embrace Islam,] will be foremost (in Paradise). 10 These will be those nearest to Allah. 11 in the Gardens of Bliss. 12 Many of them will be from the ancient people 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 On lined couches, 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and cups filled with water from unsullied springs 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 And the flesh of fowls, any that they may desire. 21 and wide-eyed houris 22 like the pearls in their shells: 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 They will hear no nonsense there or talk of sin, 25 Nought but the saying: peace! peace! 26 The Companions of the Right (O Companions of the Right!) 27 Amid thornless lote-trees, 28 and clustered bananas, 29 Lengthened shadows, 30 and flowing water, 31 And abundant fruit, 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 And raised couches; 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And have made them virgins. 36 Loving companions matched in age, 37 For the sake of the companions of the right hand. 38

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
