۞ Muster those who did evil, their wives, and that they were serving, 22 "Besides Allah, and lead them to the Way to the (Fierce) Fire! 23 And detain them, for they will be questioned." 24 What aileth you that ye succour not one another? 25 Nay, but that Day they shall surrender, 26 And some of them inclined towards others, mutually questioning. 27 (The followers will say to their leaders): “You used to come to us from the right hand.” 28 Those say, 'No; on the contrary, you were not believers; 29 we had no authority over you; no, you were an insolent people. 30 "So now the Word of our Lord has been justified against us, that we shall certainly (have to) taste (the torment). 31 So we led you astray, for we ourselves were erring. 32 And verily, on that Day they all will share in their common suffering. 33 Verily We! in this wise We deal with the culprits. 34 Truly, when it was said to them: La ilaha ill-Allah "(none has the right to be worshipped but Allah)," they puffed themselves up with pride (i.e. denied it). 35 and said: 'Are we to renounce our gods for the sake of a mad poet' 36 Nay, but he brought the Truth, and he confirmed those sent (before him). 37 Ye shall indeed taste of the Grievous Penalty;- 38 but you shall not be recompensed except for what you were doing. 39 Except for God's sincere servants; 40 For them is the sustenance known to Us. 41 Fruits! And they shall be honoured. 42 In the Gardens of delight (Paradise), 43 On couches facing one another; 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 clear, delightful to those who drink it: 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 And with them maidens of modest look and large lustrous eyes, 48 as if they were hidden pearls. 49 They will turn to each other and ask questions. 50 Said one of the speakers: "I had a friend 51 Who said: art thou of those who confess to the doctrine of Resurrection: 52 What! when we are dead and have become dust and bones, shall we then be certainly brought to judgment? 53 He will say, "Would you [care to] look?" 54 He will look down and see him in hell. 55 He will say to him: -- By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 And had it not been for the favor of my Lord, I would certainly have been among those brought up. 57 So, are we not going to die, 58 except for our first death, and are we not chastised? 59 Indeed, this is the mighty victory, 60 For the like of this, then, let them labour, those who labour [in God's way]! 61 Is such [a paradise] the better welcome - or the [hellish] tree of deadly fruit? 62 Indeed, We have made it a torment for the wrongdoers. 63 (Zaqqum) is a tree which grows from the deepest part of hell, 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: 65 Truly, they will eat thereof and fill their bellies therewith. 66 then in addition to it they shall have a draught of boiling water to drink; 67 And once again: Verily, the blazing fire is their ultimate goal 68 They found their fathers in error, 69 Yet they hasten to follow in their footsteps. 70 And verily most of the men of old went astray before them, 71 And certainly We sent among them warners. 72 and behold what happened in the end to those that had been warned [to no avail]! 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74

قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
