The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the inevitable event takes place, 1 and then there will be no one to deny its occurrence 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 When the earth will be shaken with a terrible shake. 4 And the mountains shall be made to crumble with (an awful) crumbling, 5 So they will become like fine dust, scattered in a shaft of light. 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 So those on the right how (fortunate) are those on the right! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And those who surpassed have indeed excelled. 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 They are in Gardens of peace. 12 A numerous company from among the first, 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 They (will be seated) on gold-encrusted couches, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 with goblets and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 They shall not be affected with headache thereby, nor shall they get exhausted, 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And wide eyed houris 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 There hear they no vain speaking nor recrimination 25 Except the saying, “Peace, peace.” 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 Among Talh (banana-trees) with fruits piled one above another, 29 and shade extended, 30 And water gushing, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 Whose season is not limited, and their supply will not be cut off, 33 And [with them will be their] spouses, raised high: 34 We have formed them in a distinctive fashion, 35 So made them as maidens. 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For those of the right hand. 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
