Vanity (Al-Zukhruf)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
HA MIM. 1 I call to witness the lucent Book, 2 Indeed, We have made it an Arabic Qur'an that you might understand. 3 And Verily, it (this Quran) is in the Mother of the Book (i.e. Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz), before Us, indeed Exalted, full of Wisdom. 4 Should We have withdrawn the Reminder from you as you are a people who exceed the bounds? 5 But how many were the prophets We sent amongst the peoples of old? 6 No Prophet came to them whom they did not mock. 7 so We destroyed those who were mightier than these; such was the example of the earlier peoples. 8 And if thou askest them: who hath created the heavens and the earth? they will surely say: created them the Mighty, the Knower. 9 Who has made for you the earth like a bed, and has made for you roads therein, in order that you may find your way, 10 and who sent down out of heaven water in measure; and We revived thereby a land that was dead; even so you shall be brought forth; 11 and who created the pairs, all of them, and appointed for you ships and cattle such as you ride, 12 that you may be seated on their backs and then remember your Lord's blessing when you are seated on them, and say, 'Glory be to Him, who has subjected this to us, and we ourselves were not equal to it; 13 “And indeed we have to return to our Lord.” 14 And they appoint for Him from His bondmen a part! Verily man is an ingrate manifest. 15
