Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I CALL TO WITNESS those who are sent consecutively, 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 Which scatter clouds to their destined places, 3 By those who winnow with a winnowing, 4 Then spread abroad a Message, 5 By way of excuse or warning. 6 Surely that which ye are promised will befall. 7 Then when the stars become dim; 8 And when the heaven is cleft asunder; 9 And when the mountains are carried away by wind. 10 The Messengers will receive their appointments. 11 For what day is that time fixed? 12 one will be told, "To the Day of Distinction". 13 And what do you know, what the Day of Decision is! 14 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 15 Did We not destroy the former peoples? 16 And We shall cause those of later times to follow them. 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that Day to those who reject the truth! 19 Did We not create you from contemptible water? 20 that We laid within a sure lodging 21 For a period (of gestation), determined (according to need)? 22 And We determined [it], and excellent [are We] to determine. 23 Woe unto the repudiators on that day! 24 Have We not made the earth to draw together to itself, 25 For the living and the dead, 26 And have placed therein firm and tall mountains and given you to drink of water fresh 27 Ah woe, that Day, to the Rejecters of Truth! 28 (It will be said:) "Depart ye to that which ye used to reject as false! 29 Depart into the shadow of three masses, 30 affording neither shade, nor protection from the flames, 31 "Indeed it throws about sparks (huge) as Forts, 32 and as bright as a herd of yellow camels. 33 Woe on that Day to those that give the lie to the Truth! 34 This is a day wherein they speak not, 35 Nor will they be given permission to present excuses. 36 On that day, woe would be those who have rejected God's revelations! 37 This is the Day of Decision; We have gathered you and all the earlier men. 38 and if you [think that you] have a subterfuge left, try to outwit Me!" 39 Woe that day unto those who cry it lies! 40
