The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the Sky and the Night-Visitant (therein);- 1 And what shall teach thee what is the night-star? 2 (It is a nightly radiant star). 3 That over each soul there is a guardian. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 Created from a gushing fluid. 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And the earth splitting (with plants); 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 and so am I: 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
