The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ TRULY, to a happy state shall attain the believers: 1 who are humble in their prayers; 2 And who do not incline towards indecent matters. 3 who give charity, 4 And those who of their private parts are guards. 5 [not giving way to their desires] with any but their spouses - that is, those whom they rightfully possess [through wedlock]: for then, behold, they are free of all blame, 6 But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors; 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 And they who carefully maintain their prayers - 9 These will be the heirs, 10 Heirs of Paradise, they shall abide in it forever. 11 And certainly We created man of an extract of clay, 12 which was then turned into a living germ and placed in safe depository. 13 Thereafter We created the sperm a clot; then We created the clot a lump of flesh; then We created the lump of flesh bones; then We clothed the bones with flesh: thereafter We brought him forth as another creature. Blest then be Allah, the Best of creators! 14 Then lo! after that ye surely die. 15 Then you will be raised up again on the Resurrection Day. 16 And indeed We have created seven paths above you; and We are not unmindful of the creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 also a tree growing on Mount Sinai which produces oil and a condiment for those who eat it. 20 There are lessons for you in the cattle from whose bellies We give you milk to drink, and there are other advantages that you derive from them, and some of them you eat; 21 and upon them and on the ships you are carried. 22
