The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of those who harshly pull out the soul. (Of the disbeliever) 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 by those that swim serenely 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 and by those who regulate events. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 And suddenly they will be [alert] upon the earth's surface. 14 Has there reached you the story of Moses? - 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 “Tell him ‘Do you have the inclination to become pure?’ 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 So he showed him the greater sign; 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 Saying, "I am your Lord, Most High". 24 you pay attention 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
