And truly, this (the Quran) is a revelation from the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 192 The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down 193 to your heart, so that you will warn (the people of the dangers of disobeying God). 194 in a clear, Arabic tongue. 195 And verily, it (the Quran, and its revelation to Prophet Muhammad SAW) is (announced) in the Scriptures [i.e. the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel)] of former people. 196 Was it not a proof for them that the learned men of Israel knew about this? 197 If We had revealed it to a nonArab, 198 In order that he read it to them, even then they would not have believed in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 And it shall come to them all of a sudden, while they shall not perceive; 202 They will say, "Can we be granted any respite?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Have you then considered if We let them enjoy themselves for years, 205 and thereupon that [chastisement] which they were promised befalls them 206 It will profit them not that they enjoyed (this life)! 207 We never destroyed any habitation but that it had warners 208 By way of reminder; and We never are unjust. 209 It was not the satans who brought it down: 210 for, neither does it suit their ends, nor is it in their power [to impart it to man]: 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 So call not upon another god with Allah, lest you be of those who are punished. 213 And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred. 214 and be kind to your believing followers. 215 And if they disobey thee, say thou: verily I am quit of that which ye work. 216 And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, 217 Who watches you when you stand up. 218 And thy movements among those who prostrate themselves, 219 He is all-hearing and all-knowing. 220 Shall I tell you on whom the satans descend? 221 They descend on every lying sinner, 222 They listen eagerly, but most of them are liars. 223 And the poets -- the perverse follow them; 224 Observest thou not, that they wander about every vale. 225 And they say what they do not do, 226 Save those who believe and do good works, and remember Allah much, and vindicate themselves after they have been wronged. Those who do wrong will come to know by what a (great) reverse they will be overturned! 227
